PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS
COMMERCIAL DESIGN
My first commercial project, this design is based on a fictional company with a realistic need for research-based design. INCITE. is a company that creates toys for those with cognitive and physical disabilities, specifically focusing on those with autism. The majority of the space being focused on employee use, but the entire space focused on accessibility for all.
PARTNER COLLABORATION
After partnering with another design student, this project was completed with input from both parties at each step of the design. Collaboration, communication, and trust fueled the project.
PROJECT ANALYSIS
Safety and accessibility are not heroic acts; they should simply be expected. Massive research was done on how those with autism see the world differently -Â from colors, patterns, lighting, shapes, etc. Colors found in nature, open sight lines, natural lighting, and flowing floor plans avoid an overstimulating effect.
